On last night's Coronation Street, Ken & Deidre were in the Rover's Return talking to Norris' brother, who was telling them about some Blue Ridge mountains in Australia, when Deidre said she wondered if they were like the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia from Laurel & Hardy. They then started to sing 'On the trail of the Lonesome Pine'!!!!! Just thought I'd share that with you all.

Cool! I've not watched Corrie for a long time, but that would've been fun to see.

I only watch 2 soaps - Corrie & Emmerdale. After the Boys were mentioned on Corrie I never imagined they would be mentioned on Emmerdale!!! But they were tonight. The storyline was that the children in the village were putting on a talent show and Terry & his 5 year old son were impersonating Stan & Ollie. Their sketch wasn't shown but they were dressed up in suits & had Bowlers.
If anyone watches any other soaps please keep look out for a mention.

It's just been on BBC Northwest news that visitors to Ulverston have doubled since the Laurel & Hardy statue was unveiled. How's that for pulling power???

Their feet were OK, but about a dozen houses in the southern part of Ulverston were badly affected. Houses in Steel Street were evacuated, with the Victoria High School being used as an emergency centre for a short time. The A590 was closed for at least 24 hours. For full reports, visit the North West Evening Mail website. It's a sorry picture. Fingers crossed for better news soon.

Boxing Day - 10.50 AM BBC2 - Living Famously: Laurel and Hardy. Rerun of the acclaimed documentary, last show in 2003. If your head is still recovering, set your recorder. It's not actually that wonderful, with a lot of "quotations" from Cuckoo, most of the usual myths etc., but at least SOMETHING of The Boys on TV over the holiday period.

Short sequence of The Boys (VERY short) in The Story of Slapstick. I'd demand my money back if was on pay-TV, because I didn't seen any slapstick. The L& H sequence is mainly Babe singing Harvest Moon (slapstick???) and the rest is talking heads, a bit of Keaton, a lot of Vic Reeves and other modern stuff, but worth it for me, for a glimpse of Richard Hearne (Mister Pastry) in a train-boarding sketch. I've recorded both this and Living Famously on DVD and happy to supply fellow chimney sweeps with free copies. PM me if interested, If not interested, don't!

Strange. Only the other day I was asked if I was George Galloway's agent. It's a funny old world. Mr. Brown could PM me as PM, or I could PM the PM, or my MP could reverse the charges, or something like that. I know the PM system works on here. I'm not fishing for addresses - your local pub, church, school, granny, auntie or uncle or a pal or nieghbour will do, just so long as you can access it. I don't think I can help anyone in the Foreign Legion, though. The "Slapstick" programme is not really worth having, but as it's on the disc it may as well stay there. For anyone who hasn't got it, I can put Cuckoo on as well, and our wives won't be any the wiser.
