This may sound a little silly, but just put it down to an overactive imagination of a 22yr old single woman probably needs to get out more... hehe! But do any of the other female's find eiether Stan or Ollie or any of there co-stars attractive? I'd ask the men [about the female co-stars obviously lol] but it's obvious that the guys on here are bound to find the lovely array of actresses they had with them over the years attractive!! The reason I ask is because my big sister used to say she found Stan attractive when she was in her teens! Which I myself found abit weird at the time being only young but now I'm older I can certainly see the attraction...especially from his earlier stuff. He was a very pretty guy... & Then there's the lovely little Charlie Hall...who I think looks ALOT like The League of Gentlemen's Reece Shearsmith! & I mean ALOT!!! hehe! So, incase I wasn't alone I thought I'd start this thread for any fauning/fancying to go on...or be looked at weirdly & cast out forever! I'm really hoping that it won't be the latter.... *innocent eyes* x x

Well, Sal, you're certainly right about the lovely ladies, from the male point of view - Thelma Todd (gasp) !!! but I have heard from many young women that they find Stan "cute". Certainly enough women in his life found him attractive - at least seven we know of. Personally, I can't see the similarity between Charlie and Reece Shearsmith (who was in the Slapstick programme), but then I'm a bloke. One of the most fascinating things I know about Babe, is how attractive he was as a boy (to the schoolgirls). Maybe it was his "baby" face. I've written to Tony Robinson, who said in Living Famously, that Babe obviously didn't have a chance with the girls when he was a boy. This is quite wrong. Going back to Stan, my daughter said it would be interesting to imagine him wearing "modern" clothing, as the usual L & H garb didn't do him justice. She says he's most attractive in his role in Babes in Toyland. This is all fascinating for mere menfolk, but is yet another aspect of the complexity of our particular interest.

There's def more for the fellas here..... but that's not to say that Stan isn't cute, I just think it's more in an 'Awwww...' kind of way - if that makes any kind of sense!

Thelma Todd was certainly attractive (though a little over dressed in this pic). Mae Busch was another but I loved Daphne Pollard when she smacked Ollie one with the frying pan.

I think Stan was so attractive to women because of the whole GSOH thing...funny IS sexy. All my crushes when I was a teen [& sometimes even now] have been on comedians so funny is definately a soft spot for me... Make me laugh & I'm yours...haha! Plus, I watched one of his solo silent films the other day called "The Soilers" from 1923. He is extremely attractive in that, he looked like something out of The Cure!

He is extremely attractive in that, he looked like something out of The Cure! The Soilers is one of my fave Stan solos, though the "gay" cowboy is a bit disconcerting. Must have caused quite a stir in its day. Don't know who he was. Stan used a variety of costumes in his solos, as in Roughest Africa, Near Dublin etc. I just asked the original question because of all his "relationships". He must have had something specal.

Let's have it from a female point of view, Lola...just WHY was Stan so attractive to women? I think Sal has it right.... it's the sense of humour, I think. Women tend to find that very attractive. But also, his cinema character is just so innocent.... it's cute!
