Sunday 6th June 12.00 till 5.00pm
Doors open at 11.15amThe Laughing Gravy Tent of Birmingham is proud to announce its first Laurel and Hardy "Hall" Day. This event will take place at our tent venue The Forget-Me-Not Club, Tyburn Road, Erdington, Birmingham B24 0TH. We plan to honour the "Little Menace" from his hometown Birmingham. Our own resident Laughing Gravy "Brat" (18-year-old Vince Byrne) will compose a piano score and play live to two Laurel and Hardy silent films, The Battle of the Century and Two Tars - both featuring Charlie Hall. Dave Wyatt has put together a wonderful collection of film clips with Charlie Hall in non-Laurel and Hardy films. You will be able to count some of the stars Charlie appeared with - Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Charley Chase, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Will Hay, and Basil Rathbone to name a few. There will be memorabilia stalls from all over the country and you will have the chance to win some fantastic raffle prizes. Plus sing-along with Oliver Hardy to some well known Laurel and Hardy tunes. And if that wasn't enough, the afternoon will be officially opened by Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The Boys will be appearing "in person" to talk about their connections to the city of Birmingham. Tickets are just £5 for adults (in advance) or £6 (on the door) and £3 for under-16s. To book tickets call John Ullah on 0121 628 6919 or e-mail j.ullah[at]blueyonder.co.uk.

Is anyone going to this event?
With it being on a Sunday, that's good for me, so I'm hoping to get down there. I'll just have to finish work earlier the night before!

So can we please have a report back from at least one of the 9? Sadly, my hope for a nice surprise is not to be fulfilled. Hope you all had a swell time!

I'll be writing a report of the day, and will be included in next issue of Jessop's Journal, which is due out next week. I've been holding the press until after tomorrow!
