Stan & Ollie are babysiting their children Oliver and Stanley as their wives are out. The Brats disturb Stan & Ollie`s quiet game of draughts several times which leads them to an early bed time.
Definately a good film this one, and very interesting as Stan & Ollie also play their own children in it. It defines what the Stan & Ollie characters actually are. (childlike)
The scenes with them as kids are pure Laurel & Hardy style, as Stan builds the building bricks and traps Ollie`s fingers, the door knob sequence, inflicting more pain to Ollie as he is poked in the eye with the door knob bolt thingy. Stan`s boxing style is brilliant, very funny, particular that little `Daffy Duck` jump thing he does.
The adult scenes are also quite entertaining, especially the game of pool. (Pool table strategically placed in front of a glass cabinet, very thoughtful!) Stan decides to eat some marshmallows while playing them and mistakes one for the chalk. Ollie mistakes the chalk for a marshmallow and eats it. Brilliant!
I like the scene where Stan smashes the glass in the cabinet and Ollie, not too pleased snatches the cue and breaks even more glass.
Not much dialogue in this film but some classic lines...
OLLIE: If you must make a noise, make it quietly!
and...
OLLIE: Boys will be boys!
STAN: Blood`s thicker than water!
On the whole a very good short film, one you can watch several times and still laugh at the gags as much.8/10
