Stan and Ollie become Air raid wardens after failing to enlist in any service. After much hilarity (sic.) they are kicked out. They discover saboteurs planning to blow up the local magnesium plant and become heroes.
This is pure crap. Nice to see Edgar Kennedy though. Dads army this ain't. Stan looks old. Too much patriotism not enough (or any) comedy. Nice to see Stan still has his affinity to animals. This is so bad I'm embarrassed for L&H. The name singing scene is extremely offensive (ho, ho let's laugh at a disability). Note that in long shots Stan is signing the middle of the card but close up he is signing the bottom.
Even the promising tit-for-tat sequence is buggered up by the ineptitude of the direction. I like Edgar bending down to avoid the rolling pin but getting a face full of goo. How embarrassing is Stan's speech as they are kicked out.

OLLIE: I don't want any
This is the level of humorous dialogue in this excuse for a comedy. What use is the homing pigeon that just comes home? How does it deliver messages any where else?. I like the apple going into Hitler's mouth. Not so much an ending more a "oh let's end it here". Rating 2/10 and I'm being generous.
