Not a bad silent film this one, I`m not too keen on the silent stuff, but this is one I don`t mind watching. I like the 1920`s tipper truck, the one with no handbrake. Some funny moments in this film and you can see the development of their characters emerging in this film, especially during the `Plank` routines. Lots of them, including the ever so-long plank, in which Stan is at one end, and several foot later, he is at the other, totally confusing officer Edgar Kennedy. Other funny scenes include the one where Stan is picking up the nails off the floor with a spade to put into the bucket. He unknowingly hooks the bucket onto the spade as he scoops up the nails, and spends a while trying to find the bucket. Stan also has a peculiar bendy saw, with which he struggles to cut a plank of wood. Why does Ollie keep on putting handfuls of nails in his mouth? I`m sure they don`t taste so good, and what a painful cack he must have had later that day! On the whole, a good silent film, lots of plank gags, nicely timed and one silent I can watch over again. 7/10

Serious truck. The moral is don't make promises you can't keep. Very little plot in this but with sight gag's like these who needs plot!. Note how many times Ollie does the same fall but it's always hilarious. The Stan at both ends plank gag is a true comedy classic, watch Edgar Kennedy's reactions.
So many great moments. That nurse sure packs a punch. The nail swallowing hurts to watch. One of the best silents. Stan is a very good shot isn't he. They sold the house to Barrett!. Rating 8/10

Dorothy Coburn was great as the Irritated nurse in this very good silent.

I loved the bit were Stan tears the sandpaper just as the nurse bends down.
Being a youngster Angus you wouldn't know that it was standard practice to hold nails in your mouth if your job required them and Ollies job did. my rating 9/10.
