[glow=red,2,300]Got this this AM from Chris Coffey[/glow]
I got in tonight and there was a messageon my answering machine from David Wyatt. I rang him back, delighted he was able to speak.
He is currently in a Hotel but will be moving shortly. His house is being rebuilt but it will take a while.
While in hospital, he received 135 get well cards, which amazed all the hospital staff. He thanks everyone who took the trouble to send him one.
I asked him what happened. It turns out his electric blanket was left on and got hot and sparky and the mattress caught fire. He tried to dump it but was overcome by the fumes and collapsed on the floor, where the fire brigade found him.
Downstairs is relatively okay but upstairs was badly damaged. Books and magazines have gone, but he is hopeful the smoke and fumes may not have done too much damage to his film and DVD collections. They are in storage and he has other things to sort out first, such as all his clothes being destroyed.
I said I would pass the info on. He wishes to thank everyone for their generous offers of help.

Great to see Dave back in action. He has an article in the new edition of The Perry Winkle.
