Interesting, but how come a statue of 1 (Morecambe) is dearer to maintain than a statue of 2 (L.&H.) not unless it's because Eric Morecambe's is more open to the Sea & the elements ! However, Thanks for the Info Judge.

You DO ask the most awkward questions, Piedmont! I only post the stuff. Maybe it's because Morecambe is in the high multitudes. But if you find out, let us know, because it is a very interesting point. ;D

I think it's a small price to pay from the council's money. After all, it does state how many people it's attracting to Ulverston. I'm sure they can afford to maintain it. It's the least they can do.
;D

Tell me that again.........y'know with a little expert advice, that's not such a bad idea. It would be grate publicity, for Dirty Work, the Sons and the town. Why.....with a swell idea like, that we could do the Morecambe bloke as well, for HALF the price. The profits would go to the fish, and no-one would be any the wiser. At last you're using my brains. ;D

Well, serious consideration has been given to Sons forming working parties to clean up the statue, perhaps with a festival day, perhaps on the annual "birthday" of the statue. But it was ruled out by.......guess what.......Health and bl***y Safety!!! A risk assessment wouldh have had to be done, a Safety Officer would have had to be in charge, and insurance cover would have been needed. BUT....a little sense is prevailing, and another solution has been suggested. www.ulverstonlocal.co.uk/comedy-duo-s-statue-could-pay-for-itself-1.693122?referrerPath=homeThe only question is, how long will the collection box last without getting nicked? It's not a Health and bl***y Safety issue, so it won't get any attention. BS - a "retirement" home in Suffok was stopped from having a Laurel and Hardy fim show at Christmas, because of Health and bl***y Safety. It would have needed a risk assessment regarding trailing cable trip hazards, wheelchair transit over the cables, the issue of darkness in the hall, and fire risk from the heat of the projector lamp. Good Grief.

I'd like too know who the person is that's gonna get paid around £800 to do the job? Not a bad wage at all. It would have needed a risk assessment regarding trailing cable trip hazards, wheelchair transit over the cables, the issue of darkness in the hall, and fire risk from the heat of the projector lamp. Good Grief. Well I hope our meetings never get questioned!
