I almost weep to inform you that Xmas at Foozle Folly this year, is verging on the dire. We face unknown deprivation, scarcity and misery. The head keeper has gone down with griping of the guts, so there won’t be any pheasants or partridges. All the geese have buggered off because of the snow, which only leaves the ducks. And they’re pretty scrawny at this time of year. The stable lads have also succumbed to g of the g, so no riding to hounds on Boxing day, and the cook is the keeper’s wife, so she’ll probably get it too. And THEN what will we do? Never known such disaster. The only two plus points, are that the wine merchant got through with a case of Napoleon Special Reserve, and the DVD player is working fine, so it will be wall-to-wall Laurel and Hardy for a week or so, with plenty of lubrication.
