This issue may well have come up on this forum before, so my apologies if it has, but could someone enlighten me as to why Laurel & Hardy are no longer to be found on British television?
I find it bizarre, to say the least, that such classic films are almost never shown by any of the 100s of TV channels. Considering the volume of crap that it thrown at us on a daily basis by both terrestrial & satellite TV channels, it beggars belief that there is no Laurel & Hardy movies being shown by any of them.
I have fond memories of watching them when growing up and I ensured that my own kids had the same pleasure. Our L&H DVD box set is regularly watched, however there is now a whole generation of kids, most of whom have probably never heard of Laurel & Hardy, which is both tragic & heartbreaking.
Anyway, if anyone can explain why we can no longer see our heroes on British TV, and more importantly, what we can do, if anything, to try to change that fact, I'd be grateful.
