Talksport Radio broadcast an audio clip of Thicker Than Water overnight. Predictably, it was the "money" dialogue, but the presenter, a "temp" standing in for a couple of nights, declared he was a "huge" Laurel and Hardy fan, and just had to include something from them in the progamme. Excellent taste! (Very unusual for Talksport). I sent a mesage of congratulations with a request for more of the same, but when the usual DJ comes back, it will go back to Michael Jackson. My e-mail was read out, which led to a few comments about the Sons of the Desert, so a little bit of exposure for the Boys and the Sons. And you can't say that very often these days. That's grate! And it's good to know Stan & Ollie are still being acknowledged. Well done to you judge for making them a conversation piece. I contacted our local radio station when we first set up our tent. Unfortunately, I was completely ignored. Maybe I should try again, or at least another station or two in the Manchester area.

Try your local BBC Radio regional office. As long as it's not sales-oriented, the Beeb normally welcomes contributions that cost nothing, and saves the highly-paid executives having to do anything to fill the time. Send them (and the rest of the media) a Press Release every month announcing the meetings and adding the latest news of the Boys and their movies. This will bore most Dirty Workers, so contact me privately for more media ideas.

The Boys made it on to the prestigious BBC Radio 4 Today Programme this morning. For some strange reason, the programme included an item on American fraternities, focusing on The Elks, based in Hoboken, the New York suburb where Sinatra was born. Interviewing the Exalted Ruler of the Elks (yes, really) the BBC man said: "Now when you think of fraternities like this, the first thing that comes to mind is Laurel and Hardy, and perhaps Fred Flintstone......" L & H are always the "first thing" that comes to mind for some of us.

There's a picture of the Boys in today's Daily Express so I went to their website to post a link for everyone on here to see it but their picture isn't on the article on the website. It was in an article 'DIY Disaster Zone' & showed Stan sawing a plank of wood whilst Ollie is sat on the other end (which is out of a window) reading a newspaper and underneath the picture 'An accident waiting to happen?' Don't ask me which film it's from cos I'm not that clever!!!!!!

I managed to get The Boys on the list of "Your Favourite Comedians" on Talksport during the night, and near the end of the show, somebody sent an e-mail, saying "Long live Stan Laurel". I'd say Tommy Cooper got most nominations, though there was wide range of tastes.

Just seen an advert on ITV for 'cfpi' - didn't have the sound on as I was on the phone but they were using clips from Laurel & Hardy films - think it's for people who have accidents.
;D
I have saved the picture from the Daily Express article to take to next tent meeting for identification!!!!!

There is a new Week-end Talksport presenter named Martin Kelner, who is a BIG fan of the 'Boys' ;D He played an audio clip from "Their First Mistake", spoke a little about the 'Sons of the Desert' and of him spending a week-end in Ulverston with the 'Sons' I also sent an E-mail to the show, probably the same show that the judge is speaking of.

Good idea Judge but when I watch programmes on ITV player via my Virgin box all the adverts are removed - don't know about access via computer though! PS not too sure about your new avatar!
